Round Tower Glendalough

21st January 2013

Here is a shot I took two weeks ago. One of the great things about living in Naas is it is only 40 minutes from Wicklow, which is commonly referred to as the Garden Of Ireland. The Round Tower in Glendalough is a popular subject for photographs. I decided to look for a different angle on the Round Tower and went for the framed shot. The tower is part of a historical site that dates from the 6th century. This site and the upper lake are one of the most popular tourist sites in Ireland. In my landscape gallery there is a shot of the upper lake that I took about two years ago when I was getting back into photography. Also if you are on Facebook and look at the page ‘Irish Weather Online’ you will see some fantastic shots of Wicklow & Glendalough with the current snowy conditions.

Technical Information : ISO 200, f5.6, 1/80 sec.

    1. Thanks Lori and Leslie for the comments, although Leslie it is covered in ice and snow at the moment so it would not be the warmest place to be!

      Regards,

      Paul.

  1. Such a lovely frame up for the image! I remember it quite well from our visits back about 10 years ago. I could spend hours and hours there! You have such an incredibly beautiful country.

    1. Sharon & Donna,

thanks for your comments. One of the things I love about photography is hearing people’s stories and memories when they see a photograph.

      Paul.
